Various training courses for all: a wide range of propositions. From the initiation to the research, by going through the improvement.

Most of them don't require any anterior knowledge except the desire to try...

All the training courses take place in a stimulating atmosphere of a workshop, of a work community in July. These training courses are given by enthusiast animators completely committed in the contemporary creation and passionate by their discipline.For nearly 50 years, we have tried to mix work and pleasure of holidays, discoveries and interdisciplinary experiences.
The musical training courses take place jointly. It means: encounters, concerts, open-mindedness and experiences shared during one week.
As every year, we offer flagship training courses but also new animators and new tracks: "L'art de la thérapie", "Découverte de la calligraphie latine", "Illustration", "Un tapis à soi", "Vidéo life projection", "Art collective" ...
We offer also at the end of July a week as a non-resident trainee at "l'Académie des Beaux-Arts" of Tournai.

Practical side: a lot of animators have given their mail address to settle the questions about the training courses program.
The others questions have to be settled with the administrative team. Finally, the training courses where "Equipment" isn't mentioned means that the trainees bring the equipments, which they usually work with.
The courses usually take place from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Nevertheless, the courses buildings are available until 10.00 pm.
To avoid any confusion: when the beginning of a training course is planned on Sunday, it really begins on Sunday at 2.00 p.m.!

I am glad to present you the new program of the musical training courses of AKDT.

It is always a real happiness for us to be at this moment. It is as if we had cooked in secret and with love in our kitchen some delicious dishes and we would be waiting your reaction. This year, we have concocted you new recipes and some big classics to share together a wonderful feast!
Although the majority of our training courses take place in July during our summer sessions in Libramont and in Neufchâteau, it is good to know that a lot of other activities take place also at other moments and in other places. The November session in Malmedy has been very successful in 2009 and we will do it again this year in collaboration with the "Académie de Musique" and the city of Malmedy.
We organize also some trainings abroad as, thanks to Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI), we collaborate deeply with INA (Institut National des Arts) in Kinshasa (RDC), which the Jazz classroom of the Arabian and Mediterranean Musics Centre in Sidi-Bou-Saïd (Tunisia), with the Limma Association in Constantine (Algeria) and with different structures in Benin, in Senegal, in Algeria and in Burkina Faso. A lot of our trainers take part in training courses which are given in these countries. Each year we welcome nearly 25 African trainees (also thanks to WBI grants) during our summer sessions in Libramont and Neufchâteau. Some of our trainers come from these institutions too.

It is the spirit of these meetings which enriches our sessions. Meeting between the North and the South, but also intergenerational meetings, because beginners and advances musicians, whatever their age can meet each other.

The musical sessions co-exist with plastic Arts sessions and we do everything, my colleague Eddy Devolder and me, to encourage the collaborations between visual artists and musicians. You will discover through the training courses offered descriptions that we are going with happiness to an artistic utopian view which builds bridges between traditions, the past and present vocabularies in a contemporary reality which is common to everybody.

We are sure that the fifty musical training courses and the multiple complementary activities we offer (more details on the website), are an incredible panel of experiences to do. I wish you some great moments during our training courses and enjoy ourselves to share them with you.

The first week of training courses offers you two parts. The first one covers the sources of the occidental traditions, taught by inescapable teachers who often come from the international scene (United Kingdom, Italy, France, Belgium...) and the second one is an oriental part with the Arabian and Persian music, the Armenian song, the oriental songs and dances, the Mediterranean and Iranian percussions...
Without forget for the first time a training course to initiate to the tango dance.

The second week will work the musics and dances around the world with Cuba, the Western Africa, India and Central Europe by going through the gipsy jazz!
AKDT offers you also the possibility to take part in training courses to train yourself in sound work.

The two weeks of training courses in traditional dance and musics take place from the 3rd to the 17th July 2010 in Neufchâteau. This program's purpose is to give you pleasure. They invite you to improve yourself, to open you to yourself and to others cultures. Every day during 6 days of training course, you will receive 5 hours of practical courses, one hour of free workshop, you will attend to exceptional concerts and you are also the craftsmen of musical meetings and jam'sessions.

Lot's of beautiful discovers in prospect for the performing arts' vintage 2010.

A session focused on interdisciplinarity: DANSéDANSE is a new concept which offers you to dance via the "window" of plastics arts or theatre. The performance will enable you to find a common language between the theatre, the music et the plastic arts.
Non verbal expression will open itself to the dance and will teach the actor to "think in movement". The contemporary dance - beginners will let some place to the actors, clowns, Circassians, singers, musicians; together, they will draw their dances. "Bazar dans l'art par hasard" will drag the children in the dance, the music and the drawing.
With "Le plateau de Cinéma" you will discover the actor's, realisator's, soundman, editor, realisation or production assistant's job,...

A session focused on the novelty: the solitary and multiple Soliloquy will invite you to the compact art, to this privileged relation between the lonely actor and the spectator. A certain look: the story-teller and the chorus will make you share a collective experience. The approach of the play and the staging through Antigone of Sophocle will open the doors of tragedy. From the touch to the massage will learn you the massage art by searching the quality of the movement and of the attendance. Character: directions of use will lead you to the discovery of the scenic costumes and make-up.

A session focused on the returns: the universal language of the corporal actor will go deeper into the mime and the corporal play. Write for the theatre will liberate the speech, will look for a language and will organize it for the purpose of putting it in the theatre.

A session focused on the tradition : Shakespeare, Tchekhov, Stanislavski... The Qi Gong and the Taiji Quan... The Balinese and Commedia mask, the work of: clown, one man's show, voice, improvisation, tale, picture and movement, expression in movement, play, senses and emotion, actor's first steps, theatrical exploration and writing under duress...
