Traditional dances and musics - Neufchâteau 2013

The traditional dance and music sessions in Neufchâteau are unique in Europe in the range of courses on offer, and there are so many people to testify to it. During two full weeks, musical cultures from all over the world come together around a high quality teaching program dedicated to amateurs and professionals. Thirty hours of practice over six days of courses, without forgetting the generosity of the artists during the evening concerts, shows and screenings, make these two weeks a real summer festival dedicated to the music of the world.

From 30 June to 14 July, Neufchâteau will welcome more than forty disciplines represented by around fifty teachers.

Many new courses are available in this 2013 season. In the first week, which is dedicated to traditional music with its dance music from home, we will be pleased to welcome new teachers: one from France and the other from Italy. Julien Cartonnet and Simone Bottasso will breathe fresh inspiration into the bagpipes and diatonic accordions. But there will also be Brazilian dance and music, tango, African music, Klezmer and Swedish music? The second week will bring together flamenco, Afro-Cuban, Indian, Greek and Balkan music, Gipsy Jazz. Several new courses will be on offer, including the Balkan fanfare of Pantelis Stoikos, the Kathak dance of northern India, the magic of the oriental music of the violin of the Greek Kyriakos Gouventas, or of the qanun of the Tunisian Nidhal Jaoua, or even the jiving Lindy Hop!

We suggest that you enroll as soon as possible in order to guarantee the best organization of these musical weeks, which I hope will meet all your expectations once again.
