Tango


Karin Venverloo started teaching in 2002. She has her own school in Amersfoort, and teaches, besides regular classes in 6 different levels, 4-5 beginners weekends every year, since 2003. She is frequently asked to teach beginner workshops and was one of the teachers of the first TexelTango. Festival. Her classes are a mixture of technique, musicality and movements, urging her students to search for their own style, comfort in the dance and creativity. She works with different co-teachers, depending on the request of the students or organisation. She performed in different milongas in the Netherlands, f.e. DonTango, MBrace, TangoVerde and TexelTango.

Besides that she is asked back nearly every year to perform at the famous Dias Latinos, a huge festival for Latin-American music in Amersfoort.

Background
Karin's dance background is classical dance, jazz dance, ballroom dance, flamenco and folkdance. But tango really stole her heart. She has had a regular job (IT-marketing/communication) for 15 years and decided in 2002 that she needed to follow her dream. She started up her tango school and has never been happier in her life before. She especially likes to teach beginners, since they have this authentic enthusiasm for the first movements and intense contact. She brings her enormous enthusiasm and inspires her students to dance.

Vision
Tango is about contact, communication and creativity. Learning steps is less important than feeling your partner, moving together and interpreting the music. Teaching tango means giving exercises and information about the technique of the leader and followers: posture, balance, embracing, way of moving. Listening and interpreting the music is essential and a basic necessity for a tango-dancer. And above all the dancing should be comfortable and nice.

She stimulates her students to create their own dance, giving them all the necessary tools to achieve this.

Training
Karin took intensive courses with a lot of maestro's in de past 10 years. Amongst them Gustavo Naveira, Fabian Salas, Chicho Frumboli, Damian Rosenthal, Eric Jorissen, Sebastian Arce, Alex Krebs, Pablo Villarraza (DNI), Mauricio Castro and their respective partners. She visited Buenos Aires to dance in the milonga's. She loves to train tango and create new combinations. She can both follow and lead.
